As of June 1, 2016, NIH will no longer accept forms or other documentation bearing generic departmental signatures or their electronic equivalent.


Integrated Research Resources on Campus, or IRRoC, offers a “one-stop shop” to help UMD researchers develop their ideas, write proposals, create budgets, manage their research awards, and follow compliance and reporting guidelines.


NIH Salary Limitation on Grants, Cooperative Agreements and Contracts is increasing to $185,100 effective January 10, 2016.


The NIH has released the November 2015 version of the NIH Grants Policy Statement applicable to all NIH grants and cooperative agreements with budget periods beginning on or after October 1, 2015. The revision supersedes in its entirety the current March 2015 version.


This is ORA's annual reminder regarding the University's scheduled holiday closing and the need for timely proposal submissions.  


Revised versions of the NSF Grant General Conditions (GC-1) (Summary of Significant Changes to the GC-1) and Cooperative Agreement Financial and Administrative Terms and Conditions (CA-FATC) (Summary of Significant Changes to the CA-FATC) have been issued and are effective to new NSF grants and funding amendments to existing NSF grants issued on or after 1/25/16. 


A revised version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG), (NSF 16-1) has been issued.  The new PAPPG will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after January 25, 2016.  The Guide includes a number of significant changes.


As announced today in the Federal Register, a second year has been added to the grace period for implementation of the Procurement Standards, 200.317 through 200.326, of the Uniform Guidance (UG).


As part of NSF’s efforts to reduce the workload associated with manually compliance checking proposals, NSF continues to focus on implementing automated proposal compliance checks. The next series of automated proposal compliance checks will be released in FastLane on July 24 to ensure that proposals submitted in response to Program Solicitations comply with requirements outlined in the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (Chapter II.C.2 of the Grant Proposal Guide (GPG)).


Beginning April, 24, 2015, proposals submitted in response to Program Solicitations in FastLane will undergo a series of  automated proposal compliance validation checks to ensure they comply with requirements. These checks will automatically validate a proposal for compliance against proposal sections per type of funding mechanism.
