ORA is excited to announce that Kuali Research will go live on September 26, 2017. Kuali Research will replace the Coeus research administration system and will be implemented in two phases.


On April 24, 2017, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will initiate a new pilot requiring the use of a template for identifying Collaborators and Other Affiliations (COA) information for Principal Investigators (PIs), co-PIs, and other senior project personnel identified on proposals submitted in FastLane


Applies to all NIH grants and cooperative agreements with budget periods beginning on or after October 1, 2016


NIH recently released NIH Notice NOT-OD-17-002: Adjustment to Stipend Levels for Postdoctoral Trainees and Fellows on Ruth L. Kirschstein National Service Awards (NRSA).


This is ORA's annual reminder regarding the University's scheduled holiday closing and the need for timely proposal submissions.

A revised version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG), (NSF 17-1) has been issued. The new PAPPG will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after January 30, 2017. The new version of the Guide includes a number of significant changes.
As part of NSF's efforts to modernize proposal submission and increase competitive fairness in the proposal process, additional automated proposal compliance checks will be effective September 26, 2016.

UMD is taking part in a national pilot program as part of the Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP). This may affect those proposals where UMD is a subawardee or those proposals that include a subawardee in the budget.

On July 25, 2016, NSF will release automatic compliance updates to the Fastlane system in the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending proposal sections.

The Fulbright-Hayes Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship Program Provides opportunities to doctoral candidates to engage in full-time dissertation research in modern foreign languages and area studies.
